Laboratorios CELSIUS S.A., a Uruguayan milestone in its field of activity, was born in April 1936, devoting itself, from its very beginnings, to the manufacturing and sale of medical specialties.

In 1996 it acquires the prestigious company Dermur Cosméticos, dealing with this area with the same rigor used for pharmaceutical products. To complement other aspects related to the area of human health, in May 2003 it inaugurates DiagnosticA Celsius, for the import and distribution of products and supplies destined to clinical analysis laboratories. Top quality, service, cutting-edge technology, and a firm policy of committing itself to human resources are the features that have characterized the company"s track record.

A constant commitment to development

The manufacturing plant is, in its own right, a trascendental landmark in the national development of pharmaceutical and cosmetic specialties, and has been certified and validated by European Union experts; this fact has placed Laboratorios CELSIUS one technological generation ahead of the MERCOSUR current guidelines, and, therefore, in an excellent condition to penetrate neighboring markets.

In addition to the manufacturing of pharmaceutical and cosmetic specialties, bioavailability and bioequivalence studies of new pharmaceutical formulations are conducted in CELSIUS in coordination with the Product Development Department.

Quality

Laboratorios CELSIUS has maintained the high quality of its products as one of the pillars for its performance. For this reason, its Quality Control Department is equipped with experts in the area and with state-of-the art analytical technology.

In CELSIUS we identify ourselves with the idea of building quality, with the selection of providers of raw materials and supplies, with the design of working procedures during the manufacturing processes and the different analytical stages. But this quality concept does not end once the manufacturing process has finished. Each unit sold is followed up and registered in order to be able to track it down, should the circumstances require it.

Laboratorios CELSIUS has likewise carefully selected its international parters, its suppliers of the different diagnostic techologies, chosing only those meeting international quality standards (FDA, EC, and WHO). In all cases, local validation studies are conducted, with the participation of renowned State laboratories.
